Since September 2008, writers have been visiting schools, hospitals, prisons, nursing homes (EHPAD), and associative structures in the City of Nice and the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis, a unique initiative in France. Titled Reading for All, this operation aims to prevent illiteracy through meetings between writers and different audiences.
This Tuesday, March 14, Guilaine Chenu will speak at Lycรฉe du Parc-Impรฉrial and the Journalism School of Nice.
Guilaine Chenu is a journalist, director, and presenter of the news magazine “Envoyรฉ Spรฉcial” on France 2 since 2001.
Holding a DEUG in Literature, a Bachelor’s in Literature, and a Master’s in Literature from the University of Paris IV Sorbonne, she began her career as a freelance journalist for the magazines “Lire” and “Starfix” from 1983 to 1986. She joined TF1 as a journalist in 1984, first with the General Information department, then with the Political department.
In 1994, she joined the Political department of France 2 as a Senior Reporter and followed the travels of the President and the Prime Minister around the world. She also covered the 1995 presidential campaign and the 1997 legislative campaign. From 1998 to 2000, she produced about ten reports for “Envoyรฉ Spรฉcial,” including “10 days at Matignon” and “Should we fear Austria.” Since 2001, she has been directing and presenting the weekly magazine.
