After the primaries of the right and center, it is now the left’s turn, primarily the Socialist Party, to begin its primary campaign with two rounds of elections.
The occasion to take stock of the organization necessary for such an event.
The first figure put forward by Xavier Garcia, the first federal secretary, sets the tone.
For organizing, his group had only two and a half months compared to nearly a year during the last presidential elections. A figure that leads to another, 2000 polling stations will be available, for budgetary reasons.
Against ill fortune, good heart. With significantly fewer resources than those implemented to propel François Hollande to the presidency, the men and women of Xavier Garcia have reorganized the map of polling stations. A “grid” established to allow anyone wishing to vote to do so in less than half an hour. With 80 stations compared to 130, 25 compared to 42 in Nice (or a quarter of an hour to go vote), left sympathizers remain confident.
The assumed and paradoxical objective is that of the right. Although Xavier Garcia deplores the choice of candidate Fillon, he also wishes to see momentum, a union behind a single political figure.
As for the voting itself, nothing too complex even if some basics bear repeating. A lawyer and a bailiff will ensure the ethical conduct of the ballot, every voter will pay 1+1 € and must sign the charter of adherence to moral values.
As a reminder, the first round of these primaries will take place next Sunday, January 22nd.
