The results of the legislative elections were announced this Sunday, July 7. Following the dissolution of the National Assembly, the French were called to the polls. Here is a summary of the final results.
Nearly 527,000 voters in six out of nine constituencies in the Alpes-Maritimes department were called to vote this Sunday to elect their deputies. Three representatives of the National Rally (RN) party had already been elected in the first round last week: Christelle dโIntorni, Alexandre Masson, and Bryan Masson in the 4th, 5th, and 6th constituencies.
In Nice, the Union of Republicans (LR) and the National Rally (RN), as well as the RN as an independent party, prevailed in the legislative elections in Nice. Despite this success, the left-wing alliance of the New Popular Front came out on top this Sunday, July 7, in the second round of the legislative elections in France, surpassing the Macronists and hindering the progress of the National Rally.
During his speech to his supporters this Sunday evening, รric Ciotti expressed his dissatisfaction with the current political situation in France. He denounced an “institutional and political coup,” asserting that Emmanuel Macron had offered “power to the far left on a silver platter.”
After these results, several politicians spoke. Eric Ciotti, on X, still expresses his joy of being re-elected, saying, “I am re-elected in the first constituency of the Alpes-Maritimes. Thank you to the people of Nice who have trusted me once again!”
Christian Estrosi, for his part, praised the results achieved by declaring: “We must never lose hope in the French people or democracy. Despite some progress, the French have imposed an absolute minority on the RN.”
