General Councilor for the 7th district of Nice after a by-election in which she won her duel against Jean Hanot, the city of Nice’s deputy for security, she has been a member of the Socialist Party since 1976 and is the wife of Patrick Mottard, leader of Nice Plurielle.
Just a few days before the verdict of the first round and it is difficult to make any predictions about the choice of the ballot boxes, which had been favorable to MMM in the previous election againstโฆ Patrick Mottard.
Nice Premium met with Dominique Boy Mottard to find out how she is approaching this new election in Nice, which she hopes will end as favorably as the last with a victory at the end.

The presentation article of the second district
Nice Premium: Dominique Boy Mottard, what are your thoughts on your legislative campaign?
Dominique Boy Mottard: The electoral arithmetic is against me. We are in the most right-leaning district of Nice in national elections. So, it’s a great challenge. And that suits me: I like it!
NP: A very feminine constituency with a one-on-one against MMM. How do you gauge your opponent?
DBM: Elected in 2002 as a newcomer, she benefited from the support of Mr. PEYRAT and the blue wave. In 2004, two years later, during a highly personalized election, she was defeated decisively by Patrick MOTTARD in the 5th canton (a 10% gap). Someone mischievous might say that she doesn’t improve upon closer acquaintance…
NP: What are the main points of your program?
DBM: Solidarity. Solidarity over time with future generations (sustainable development), across space with the countries of the South (co-development), and within French society (secure career paths). This is the main focus of my campaign.
But it would be hypocritical not to mention local considerations.
A good performance on my part would be a good omen for the future…
in Nice!
NP: In 2002, it was a different Mottard in the race. How was the relay passed?
DBM: With Patrick, we make a strong team: a bit like in a car rally. In 2002 (where he also achieved the best Socialist score in the department), he was driving, and I was the co-driver. This year the roles are reversed.
NP: What are the next events in your campaign?
DBM: A Fraternity and Citizenship evening in the Pasteur district at the restaurant “Onnis” (15 avenue Joseph Raybaud), on Thursday, June 7 at 6:30 PM.
A public meeting in a prominent Nice restaurant, the “Brasserie de l’Union” (1 rue Michelet), on Friday, June 8 at 7 PM.
And, of course, fieldwork, fieldwork, fieldwork…
NP: And finally, what will be your first actions if you are elected?
DBM: Do what I did after my victory in the 7th district, that is, mesh the district with a solid network of citizens to be in touch with their expectations or demands, while being able to inform them as best as possible. Some call this participatory democracy. I consider it the ABCs of the job of an elected official.
