Legislative Elections (2nd Constituency): Will Anne Sattonnet (UDI-LR) Succeed in Her Challenge?

Latest News

The candidate from the Les Républicains party held, in conclusion of her electoral campaign, a meeting at the Grasse convention center accompanied by her deputy, Jérôme Viaud, the mayor of the sub-prefecture of Alpes-Maritimes.

For Anne Sattonnet, her commitment is for her territory. It is just as much for the rural areas, the villages, and the small municipalities. Her fight is primarily for the preservation of the industry, but also for merchants and artisans.

A fight for industry

For the candidate, all departmental industrial production is distributed between Grasse, Carros, and also the ZAC of St Esteve, in St Jeannet. She mentions the perfume industry, but also those in Carros, which are “high-tech” industries. The real problem lies in the burdens that are too heavy to bear. She particularly refers to the RSI, which she describes as “a scourge for them.”

Developing telework

Her second fight is about the road. According to her, too many compatriots complain about having to travel hundreds of kilometers just to get to work. She wishes to put an end to this. Anne Sattonnet therefore wants to focus on developing employment and the economy by freeing up telework, which allows fulfilling professional obligations while managing the constraints of family life.

To vote or not on laws

“I will not be someone who systematically votes against what the government will do… not at all,” she affirmed. The candidate believes that it’s necessary to support essential reforms. However, she will remain vigilant. She wants these to be conducted taking into account the reality of the territory and the local context.

For Anne Sattonnet, the reality of the territory is often, she says, the opposite of what the “énarques” in the ministries in Paris think. For her, the “énarques” have an extremely urban and rather traditional vision of how France operates. It seems simple, but that’s where the whole problem lies.

For the candidate, France is largely rural and diverse. It is therefore important to consider this and not have just a Parisian perspective in the way things are managed.

Facing communitarianism, taking action

“I will be very vigilant on the government’s approach to issues of communitarianism,” said Anne Sattonnet. “Today and throughout this presidential campaign, we have not had clear responses from Emmanuel Macron on how he intends to address terrorism.”

For the candidate, it is necessary to respond in an extremely firm manner. She wishes the government would implement measures such as: closing and protecting borders, fighting against communitarianism…

The fight will be long. She intends to pursue it, from the first round, against her legislative opponents, with Loïc Dombreval, the mayor of Vence, at the forefront, of whom she is the first deputy, while he represents himself through En Marche!

Despite this, she is committed and will not back down. She will pursue victory through to the end.
