Philippe Vardon met with local and national representatives of the association “En toute franchise.” This association has been working for years to defend local businesses against large retail chains.
Philippe Vardon signed the association’s charter, committing—if elected as a deputy—to request a freeze on the construction of new large commercial outlets, allowing time for a necessary audit through a parliamentary inquiry commission on the abuses observed throughout the territory.
This is a strong commitment to defending a local economy based on neighborhood businesses and crafts. On this occasion, Philippe Vardon also reiterated his fight for reducing the burdens and administrative constraints on small and medium-sized enterprises and for the complete overhaul of the RSI.
Finally, Philippe Vardon is particularly alarmed by the increase of 1,000m² (bringing it to 3,800m²) in the commercial space allocated to Carrefour in the latest version of the Ray redevelopment project. This represents a true disruption of the sector’s balance and a threat to all the local businesses still surviving in the area.
