For Hervé Cael, president of the Parti Radical 06, “Abstentionism is the big winner of the first round of the legislative elections. Even more so than in 2002, 2007, and 2012, it is the automatic majority for the newly elected President that has prevailed.”
For him, “this election, having thus become meaningless, makes abstentionists the majority. It is the Parliament that is weakened, even transformed into a mere rubber-stamping body. This is why the Radicals are calling for electoral mobilization to change the situation and allow for political pluralism in the National Assembly, which remains the guarantor of the vitality of our democracy.”
The Parti Radical is calling on voters to mobilize for the candidates endorsed by Les Républicains and the UDI. In constituencies where a candidate from La République En Marche will be opposed by the National Front, the call is for a republican vote.
