Legislative Elections: PS, EELV, and PCF refuse the formation of a single Nupes group, as proposed by Mélenchon

Latest News

To prevent the National Rally (RN) from becoming the main opposition force, the leader of the NUPES, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, proposed that the left remain united in the Assembly. This is unacceptable to other parties who recall that this option was not part of their union agreement.

However, this was not what was planned: the left-wing forces had signed an agreement to form an “intergroup” in the Assembly.

For the record, the final results of the NUPES parties are as follows: La France Insoumise secured 72 seats, Europe Ecologie-Les Verts 23 seats, the Socialist Party 26 seats, and finally the Communist Party, 12 seats. By not obtaining the necessary 15 seats, the latter party will not be able to form a parliamentary group. Perhaps they can join La France Insoumise.
