The centrist party and its local leader Rudy Salles have unveiled the list of candidates nominated in the various local constituencies.
Philippe Soussi, Céline Lacroix, Rudy Salles, Jean-Paul Geay, Karine Lambert, Loïc Dombreval, Edwige Madec-Vernocke, Patrick Lafargue, Gilles Cima, and Danièle Tubiana will thus be contenders at the starting line for the first round on June 10 and a possible second round on June 17, 2007.
Interesting contests are anticipated, as we already know some of the personalities who will face off – Philippe Soussi will have to fight hard against Patrick Allemand, Jérôme Rivière, and Eric Ciotti. The second district is marked by a focus on women as Céline Lacroix joins Muriel Marland Militello and Dominique Boy Mottard. In the third constituency, Rudy Salles, who won the last election handsomely with 71% of the votes, will have to contend with a PS/PRG candidate, Elodie Jomat, pending confirmation whether Olivier Bettati will officially be a candidate as announced by Jacques Peyrat.
In short, the Bayrou wave has indeed reached Nice and the meeting was proof of the new enthusiasm for this third candidate who is increasingly flirting with the top spots synonymous with a presidential mandate for the next five years.
