A successful bet: The “Fourres de Rire” aimed to establish themselves in the long term and offer an annual humor event in our County: mission accomplished!
The Fourres de Rire are part of the actions that Sian d’Aqui hopes to be foundational, so that all generations rediscover the strong cultural heritage identity that has always characterized the County of Nice.
The Fourres de Rire aim to meet three main ambitions:
- Allow the people of Nice to see or revisit on stage local artists who are either famous or upcoming;
- Offer an opportunity for new local comedic talents to become known to a wider audience (mission accomplished in 2004 with the success of Vincent TRUPIANO, in 2005 with Philippe MARCHAND, in 2006 with Anne BERNEX, and last year with Xavier BORRIGLIONE);
- Encourage and spark the creation of original works labeled “County of Nice.”
For three years now, Sian d’Aqui has chosen to reserve an evening for a “guest region” to introduce the people of Nice to talents from elsewhere. In 2005, Provence was the first guest, in 2006 it was Corsica, in 2007 Alsace, and this year, a nod to Brittany.

Richard Cairaschi: Bardaqui
Bar songs in the County.
As before, as now, men have always gathered to have a drink and sing a tune. It’s in history, it’s in our genes. Singing stories with voices, three voices, in the traditional way. In an unconstrained language, from French to Niçois to Piemontese.
And since our hands are free, we keep them busy. A melodic accordion, a rhythmic guitar, and a basic mandolin set the tone, and the “SI” is often flat.
Traditional or newly invented songs and music with the storyteller’s tale, the one who narrates and recounts, and we have a laugh.

Tano? It’s rage in the service of laughter, a fruitful and fierce desire to communicate, and a keen sense of observation.
A minimum wage earner passionate about drunk driving… A singer against all odds… A beautician specializing in testicular epilation with a spoon… A hunter and mythomanic terrorist… A true portraitist, one who doesn’t seek to flatter, and without ever tending towards malice.
Winner of the Open du Rire at the Humour Sérénissimes of Monaco, Jury Prize from the Juste pour rire studio, Tano sweeps up awards at every festival he participates in.

Arnaud Cosson: Everything’s Good in the Cosson
Between assuredly exaggerated portraits and justly and incisive lines, Arnaud has found his style. Highlighting the strengths of his play, he successfully takes the audience into a world where his communicative humor hits the mark. A face with multiple expressions and an elastic body add to the interpretation of his characters, with a dynamic and a color that surprises the spectator. The sketches depict flaws, excessive attitudes, tormented behaviors, and touches of innocence or bad faith displayed by the characters.
Endowed with a remarkably endearing nature, Arnaud is an artist of multiple facets whose sole concern is sharing his love of laughter.

Xavier Borriglione: The Path of the 7 Buddhas
In their farm at Gaudissart, somewhere in the near future, between the day after tomorrow and the middle of the 21st century, Toinou and his companion Fina simply won’t stop completing their peaceful existence.
Nothing seemed more capable of disturbing their tranquility in this secluded mountain spot, cut off from everything; And yet, a man who falls from the sky in a helicopter is about to revolutionize this micro-world. A man on a spiritual quest along the path of the 7 Buddhas. He already surpassed the first six stages long ago, but while searching for the 7th Buddha, his spiritual quest somewhat morphed into a quest for power and riches… Whatever the case, he is certain the energy of the 7th Buddha is near Toinou’s farm.
But neither this greedy man nor Toinou can yet imagine the surprises and the humanistic and delirious mysteries that await them on the path of the 7 Buddhas.
