“Let’s Save French Sport”: 50 Measures for Revitalization (3/6)

Latest News

The deputy of Alpes-Maritimes, Cédric Roussel, president of the study group “Economy of Sport” of the National Assembly, and François Cormier-Bouligeon, president of the study group “Sport”, submitted 50 measures to Prime Minister Jean Castex to revive French Sport.*

At the origin of this initiative with an evocative name, “Save the Sport”, is the necessary economic revival of the sports sector heavily impacted by the crisis.

But the ambition of the initiators is to give a central place to sport in our society through the development of school sports, corporate sports, or health sports.

Better understanding the place of sport in France

11- Four years before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, launch a major citizen debate on the place of sport in our society.

12- Transform the Observatory of the Sport Economy into the Economic, Social, and Societal Observatory of the sports phenomenon.

13- Establish a mapping of the sports infrastructures in our country to assess their condition. Develop sports for all by supporting the sports movement

14- Launch a communication campaign to promote the sports season and the virtues of sport in terms of well-being, health, cohesion, and social inclusion.

15- Implement an employment/training plan for employees of sports associations. Develop training from level 3 to level 7, as well as additional certifications, which can rely on apprenticeships in fields ranging from sports coaching to management, associative management, and event planning.

16- Create in regional directorates a single point of contact to support sports stakeholders (federations, decentralized bodies, clubs) in mobilizing economic activity support mechanisms.

17- Appoint a parliamentary mission to evaluate the Federal Sports Plans and Territorial Sports Plans of the National Sports Agency.

18- Support the modernization of sports federations: election mode of presidents, limiting the number of terms for presidents at the national level to three, and increasing female representation in decentralized bodies.

19- Recognize the role of salaried and volunteer leaders (right to training, recognition of skills).

20- Strengthen the honorability control of leaders, volunteers, referees, and lifeguards.
