On August 28, 1944, the day of the Liberation of Nice, 32 residents of Nice fell under enemy fire and 280 were wounded in fierce street battles.
On the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the Liberation of Nice, a tribute is paid to the men whose courage allowed the city to regain honor and freedom.
All residents are invited to join the commemorative route and participate alongside notable figures in the Duty of Remembrance.
Throughout this Memory Circuit organized in Nice around plaques bearing the names of these heroic men, a booklet of their biographies will be distributed.
Created by Michel Goury, this booklet presents the identity of each resistor (identity sheet with copies of documents from the time). It serves to extend this commemorative journey beyond the ceremony.
