Lifting of health restrictions in England

Latest News

While in France teachers are protesting once again to denounce the management of the health crisis, England is lifting its restrictions aimed at combating Covid-19.

Indeed, for the second time in a year, England lifted almost all the remaining restrictions in place against Covid-19 on Thursday, January 27, 2022.
The government wants the population to get used to living as they do with the flu.

The presentation of a vaccination pass is no longer required, and wearing a mask is no longer mandatory indoors, and nursing homes are reopening to everyone.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson also hopes to lift the isolation requirement for positive individuals in March, โ€œjust as there is no legal requirement for people with the flu to isolate,โ€ he stated.

However, these developments do not please everyone.
The public seems to waver between relief and some degree of skepticism.
That’s why masks have not entirely disappeared yet; it’s difficult to return to normal overnight, and some have admitted that they will continue to wear a mask on public transport and in stores. Meanwhile, others are delighted with this newfound freedom.
Furthermore, some stores such as Sainsburyโ€™s, Waitrose, or Morrisons, have announced the maintenance of the mask requirement to access their establishments.

On the other hand, Boris Johnson warned on Thursday morning that โ€œthe pandemic is not overโ€ and once again encouraged vaccination.
