On July 17, a control operation by Lignes d’Azur and the municipal police took place on the transport network. An operation to combat fraud amidst a summer period marked by significant traffic.

When we talk about the summer season, it entails strengthening the mobilization of Lignes d’Azur. This Thursday, July 17, a control operation on the transport network was carried out, involving both the personnel of the Transport Security Control Group (GSCT) and the municipal police. The goals: to enhance the fight against fraud, raise awareness among users, and ensure a reassuring presence within the transport system.

The core of the operation was at Jean Mรฉdecin. In the lines 2 and 3 tramway station, agents positioned themselves on either side of the security gates. It was a routine but crucial operation to address the challenges of the high tourist season, marked by a higher volume of transport line users. Numerous checks were performed, observed by Anthony Borrรฉ, the first deputy mayor, and Gaรซl Nofri, deputy and president of Lignes d’Azur.

The operation then continued on the tramway’s line 2, all the way to the port. The journey was punctuated with multiple inspections in the carriages. Itโ€™s the everyday life of the agents.

Lignes d’Azur: a network on the right track

โ€œWe ensure that the teams are harmonized. And we have one of the most secure networks in France. There are measures implemented every summer, such as increasing our police force, actions concerning our shopkeepers. And also the Lignes d’Azur network,โ€ stated Anthony Borrรฉ.

The entire Lignes d’Azur network is vast, encompassing both tramways and buses. Each year, over 3.6 million people are checked. Gaรซl Nofri emphasized the success of these numerous lines. โ€œThe particularity is that this network functions without downtime. We have people all the time. We increased the GSCT staff by 50% last year. And we have a network that addresses all issues: fraud, wandering individuals, and even incivilities. The approach is control and security. One cannot go without the other,โ€ explained the president of the Rรฉgie Lignes d’Azur.
