Nice was defeated once again at home by Stade Rennais (0-1) and continues its descent in the standings.
The start of the match was in favor of the Niçois, who created numerous opportunities, notably through Alexis Claude-Maurice. Unfortunately, the Gym’s attackers often missed the target, failing to trouble Romain Salin, the Rennes goalkeeper.

On a second corner, it was Benitez who had to intervene to push the ball away.
At the half-hour mark, M’Baye Niang took advantage of a misunderstanding between Lotomba and Danilo to recover the ball and beat Benitez with a dry shot that went through the Argentine goalkeeper’s legs.
The Niçois never recovered from this opener, and the Rennes team dominated the rest of the match quite easily.
The introduction of Dolberg, returning to competition, in the 57th minute did not change the pace of the match.
Rennes handed Nice their 7th defeat in eight matches, all competitions combined, plunging the Azurean club even further into crisis.
The eaglets will need to quickly halt this negative streak as they travel to Nîmes this Wednesday at 7 PM.
