Ligue 1: No supporters for Nice vs PSG!

Latest News

The news came shortly after the announcement of the tightening of measures related to the acceleration of the COVID-19 epidemic. The clash between OGC Nice and PSG for the 4th day of the Ligue 1 championship will be held behind closed doors.

It was supposed to be a grand football celebration between the Nice team and the stars of the multiple French champions, Paris Saint-Germain. Unfortunately for the few lucky supporters of the team who managed to secure one of the 3,000 tickets available to attend the match, the club’s management announced in a statement that the match would be played without spectators.

โ€œHealth is the absolute priority. We can only bow to this decision and respect it,โ€ reacted Jean-Pierre Rivรจre. โ€œNevertheless, morally, itโ€™s a major blow. Regarding our supporters, it was already complicated to be limited to 5,000 people. Today, itโ€™s 1,000. Once we factor in all the organization, we practically reach this number. This means the match will be played without an audience. So we are sad. Football without fans is not the same. We keep saying it. Thousands of subscribers imagined they would finally return to the stadium. And two days before the match, they learn that this will not be the case. Even if itโ€™s none of our doing, there’s nothing worse than going back and forth like this. We are sincerely sorry. But unfortunately, we have no choice.โ€

Adding to this is the impossibility for fans to gather in bars or public places to watch the match together. Read more here: https://www.nicepremium.fr/ecrire/?exec=article&id_article=28573
