For the 9th day of Ligue Magnus, the Eagles of Nice traveled to Anglet. With a more positive momentum, the team from Nice managed to turn the tide and win (1-2).
For their tenth match of the season, the team from Nice played well. Facing Anglet this evening, Frantisek Stolc’s men showed determination to overcome Anglet. An opponent they seem to handle well, as they have secured five victories in their last five encounters.
With quite similar dynamics in this first quarter of the championship, both teams neutralized each other at the start of the match. More incisive in the first period, the team from Nice still got surprised right from the start. Timothe Quattrone managed to deceive Raphaรซl Garnier in the third minute of the game.
Unlike the match against Bordeaux or Cergy Pontoise earlier in the week, the Eagles did not falter. Marc Andrรฉ Levesque’s teammates created more chances than the Hormadis. Even though the hosts led the game until the end of the second period, it was evident that the match could tip at any moment.
And after 50 minutes of play, the match turned in favor of the Eagles. Well assisted by Teemu Loizeau, Nicolas Ruel scored his second goal of the season. Reinvigorated, the team from Nice continued to press towards the opposing net. And it paid off! Hugo Proux sent the puck into the opposing net three minutes later.
The end of the match was tense, but Nice managed to hold on and secure their third victory of the season (1-2). A win that allows them to overtake Anglet in the standings and take the 7th place. Now, they will have a break since the Eagles have already played their 10th day of the championship in a rescheduled match. The next match is set for next Friday in Gap for the continuation of this Ligue Magnus season.
