Traveling to Lille tonight (20:45), OGC Nice can no longer afford to make mistakes, at the risk of seeing Monaco and Paris pull further away.
The Opponent
The winter was very active in Lille. At the top levels of the club, Gรฉrard Lopez became the majority shareholder and president, replacing Michel Seydoux, while simultaneously appointing Marc Ingla as general manager. On the bench, pending the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa in July, officially announced by the northern club on February 19th, Franck Passi succeeded Patrick Collot, who had taken over on an interim basis following Frรฉdรฉric Antonetti’s departure.
There have also been many player movements, with 6 new players (El Ghazi, Gabriel, Kishna, Alonso, Bahlouli, Xeka) joining at the Luchin training ground and 7 leaving the club (Sankharรฉ, Tallo, Obbadi, Civelli, Mendes, Amalfitano, Mothiba). Youth and fresh blood have thus been injected into a squad that currently ranks 13th in the league with 10 wins, 7 draws, and 14 losses.
The Absentees
On the Lille side, the absentees are Basa, Soumaoro, Mendyl, Arcus, and Bahlouli.
Regarding Nice, Paul Baysse and Mounir Obbadi are not yet ready to return to competition.
