The time of visits and piece-by-piece inaugurations is coming to an end, and the time when, instead of construction sites and models, one will finally be able to travel is not far off.

In fact, the construction of tram line 2 has entered its final phase. It will be operational next summer between Magnan and the administrative center. By the end of 2018, it is expected to serve the airport, before reaching the port of Nice in September 2019.

After the tunnel boring machine was removed, tram line 2 in Nice has entered its final phase of construction.

The Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, organized a visit this Monday of four sites considered emblematic of tram line 2: the airport, Arenas, the Digue des Français, and the CADAM terminus.

With the tunnel boring machine out of the ground, attention is now focused on the western part of the construction site.

During the visit, Christian Estrosi expressed optimism about meeting the deadlines.

Specifically, the section between the airport and the prefecture will be used to conduct the first test runs of the future red and black tramway starting in mid-February.

A few more inaugurations and visits, and then… passengers aboard, the tram is ready to depart!
