Based on false information, he sent (and of course disseminated) a letter to the Region to protest against the modification of the route of line 230 Nice-Valbonne which, according to his allegations, had changed its terminus (Cadam instead of Lycée Masséna) to encourage the use of tram line 2.
The response from the President of the Regional Council was swift: “Not only have we not modified the route of line 230, but we have also decided that by the end of 2019, all buses of the Metropolis passing on the Promenade des Anglais will be electric.
Currently, the buses on line 230, which the Region inherited from the Department, are thermal and not electric. Therefore, the Region will, in its next call for tenders, replace the thermal buses on this line with 100% clean buses.”
The conclusion is rather scathing: “It would have been simpler for Eric CIOTTI to call me to discuss this subject rather than alert the press to a problem that does not exist.”
