With his contract with Tottenham ending next June, the goalkeeper might return to France, and more specifically to OGC Nice, his training club.
The 35-year-old goalkeeper has not yet been approached for a contract extension at Tottenham, which will end next June. OGC Nice could take advantage of this to bring back their former player.
According to Foot Mercato, OGC Nice would like to bring back the goalkeeper of Les Bleus next summer. The current first-choice goalkeeper of the Aiglons, Walter Benitez, might leave the club soon, so a replacement will be needed. Therefore, Lloris could be the chosen one, especially since it could be done without negotiations with Tottenham.
Return to his training club?
So, could Hugo Lloris return to his training club in Ligue 1, 14 years later? Still according to Foot Mercato, the goalkeeper is reportedly interested in the idea of returning to OGC Nice, the club that trained him, which he left for Olympique Lyonnais in 2008 before joining the Spurs in London in 2012.
