Cynthia Vescan, just 20 years old, was qualified yesterday for the Olympic Games in the Women’s Wrestling – 72 kilograms category.
Licensed with the Nice Olympic Wrestling Cรดte d’Azur, Cynthia VESCAN participated in the last Olympic qualification tournament in Finland this weekend in the 72-kilogram women’s wrestling category.
In the first round, she faced the Lithuanian ORDRINA, whom she defeated by fall. In the quarter-finals, she wrestled against the Brazilian DA SILVA and won 1/0 โ 5/1. In the semi-finals, she defeated the Austrian GASTL 1/0-5/4 and secured her ticket to London. In the final, Cynthia Vescan faced the Spaniard UNDA, who had previously blocked her path in the last tournament in China.

She has a great chance of winning a medal at the London Games this summer and could obtain an Olympic medal in her category. She will be the only Frenchwoman to try her luck in this discipline.
