Latest News

The kayaker from the French Riviera, Émilie Fer, secured the Olympic gold in slalom this Thursday at the Lee Valley course in London.

Émilie Fer commented on her success: “A feeling of happiness and, above all, accomplishment. And a desire to share it, to share this gold medal with everyone.
I was sure I would get there one day, that I could finally compete at my true level, the level of my training. I thrive on challenges and this one was incredibly motivating. I am the first French Olympic champion in K1, but I just remember that I am adding a gold medal to French canoeing and kayaking, and I am proud of it!”

The gold medal of the athlete from La Colle-sur-Loup received an enthusiastic reaction from Eric Ciotti, president of the General Council and head of Team 06, which supports the Olympic selections from the department: “It’s another exceptional day for the athletes from the Alpes-Maritimes.

This time it’s Émilie Fer who just won a gold medal in canoe-kayak in the slalom discipline.

This Olympic title rewards an exemplary career during which Émilie Fer has demonstrated determination and perseverance. It is years of hard work that have allowed her to reach the heights of her discipline today.

I am particularly happy that once again, a champion from the Team 06 General Council stands out during these Olympic Games.”
