On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his passing with the presence of the azuréenne company Biagini, an evening dedicated to Marcel Pagnol was organized this Tuesday, November 19th.
With a musical welcome, the cultural space L’Artistique hosted this tribute evening for Marcel Pagnol. Every year, since 2018, the city has organized this literary event. It aims to honor authors such as Apollinaire, Boris Vian, or Colette, during an evening.
The azuréenne company has been presenting its show throughout France for ten years. And today, it opens the doors of Nice, first presenting a mock conference about Marcel Pagnol, whose anecdotes brought smiles to many faces. This moment was followed by a theatrical reading of excerpts from the correspondence between Marcel Pagnol and Jules Raimu. The premiere of their show “Jules and Marcel, new version” will take place in Châteauneuf de Grasse, on January 25th.
Christian Guérin introduced us to a Niçois version of Marcel Pagnol. Born in 1895, in Aubagne in a school. But whose path continually evolved between Cannes and Monaco. For him, cinema had a strong significance, as he shares the birth date with the Cannes Festival. On the occasion of these 130 years of cinema, one might expect to see the child of Aubagne there. This was followed by interviews of Marcel Pagnol that punctuated the mock conference. The second part of the show eventually concluded the evening full of humor, centered around the character of Marcel Pagnol.
