OGC Nice remains unbeaten in this 2014-2015 Ligue 1 season after their 0-0 draw at Lorient. Still interesting in the gameplay, the Nice team can also thank their goalkeeper, Mouez Hassen, for an excellent performance.
Two enjoyable matches for one win against Toulouse and a draw brought back from Lorient, OGC Nice is starting this new season in a great way. Claude Puel once again set up his 4-3-3 with two changes due to injuries: Kevin Gomis and Franck Honorat replaced Mathieu Bodmer and Dario Cvitanich.
On the synthetic field of Lorient, not favored by Claude Puel, Nice had difficulty getting into the game. Shaken for 10 minutes, particularly by a very lively Vincent Aboubakar, the Eagles gradually took control with strikes from Hult and Amavi. The Nice attacks mainly collided with a very solid Lorient defense of Ecuele Manga-Konรฉ. During the first half, one man stood out: Mouez Hassen. Unsteady last week against Toulouse, he frustrated the Merlus on Saturday night with numerous saves in the 16th, 30th, and 41st minutes.
In the second half, the Nice team was much more physically challenged and faced many Lorient waves. Jordan Amavi could have opened the scoring in the 54th minute but his ball flirted with the goal line with no one to push it in. Then it was the “Hassen Show” with an impressive series of saves: in the 67th after a shot by Coutadeur, in the 70th after a shot by Jouffre, and at the end of the match on a corner. He is, without any possible dispute, the man of the match.
Once again, note the excellent performance of the Hult-Eysseric duo, very present in the midfield, as well as the match of Romain Genevois and Kevin Gomis, very solid at the back. OGC Nice is this Saturday night in 2nd place in the championship, tied on points with the leader, Paris Saint-Germain. The Nice team will face the Girondins de Bordeaux next Saturday (8 PM), perhaps aiming for a third match without defeat.
