Every year, Lou Presepi, a life-sized nativity scene with automated characters, is set up as is traditional in Rossetti Square, a historic square in the heart of the old town. It will be inaugurated this Friday at 5:30 PM, accompanied by a musical performance.
Lou Présepi will then be open to the public every day from 10 AM to 8 PM until Tuesday, December 26, 2017.
This tradition, like so many others, is ancient. It dates back to the 13th century and is believed to have been initiated by Saint Francis of Assisi, who was the first to stage a living nativity scene.
