Democratizing trading in Nice: this is the mission of Lucas Mikado, co-founder of ARYA. The company, part of the Greenbull group, is based on a trading automation solution.
An idea that came to bloom in Nice ten years ago. Back in 2015. At the headquarters of Greenbull located in Nice, the aim was to revolutionize trading. In 2019, ARYA Trading was introduced and launched to the public. Today, the co-founder of ARYA takes pride in the fact that his company remains in a stable position, in an environment where everything can change in the blink of an eye. Lucas Mikado, an ambitious entrepreneur, explains his method.
How did the idea to create a trading automation solution come about?
The creator of this solution is Guillaume Monges, the CEO of Greenbull Group. Therefore, it originated in Nice. Initially, ARYA was created for Guillaume because he was interested in trading. He found it to be a formidable lever. But Guillaume is not superior to everyone. With all the psychological biases one can have in trading, he realized it was going to be complicated. He decided to create a solution for himself and the Greenbull group. The main idea was to have software that can manage and act on their behalf in financial markets.
What audience is targeted? Beginners, experienced traders, or institutional traders?
We are not necessarily targeting beginners, per se. It’s a solution that perfectly integrates with individuals who have experienced a first failure in trading and need a solution to trade on their behalf. In financial markets, there are 90% of people who lose money in trading. These are figures from the AMF (Editor’s note: French Financial Markets Authority).
How many clients do you currently have within your company? What are their profiles?
Today, we have 1,200 people within the ecosystem. Among them, many are men, although we have increasingly more women, particularly mothers. Nine out of ten are employees. They are generally between 30 and 55 years old and have already had some initial contact with financial markets.
How do you support your clients?
There are two parts. First, the software: handling the software, configuring it, understanding how it works. It is somewhat technical. Then, we help to understand and read financial markets. We combine both elements. A good understanding of financial markets and mastering the software are necessary. Thus, ARYA acts on our behalf in the markets.
How do you ensure the security of data and client accounts, knowing that trading is a sensitive environment?
Client accounts are hosted by brokers. So, brokers are like banks that provide access to financial markets. Therefore, ARYA integrates with these brokers. The broker account ultimately holds the client’s financial data. We use the MT4 platform, which is the best-known and most used in the trading world. ARYA does not retrieve data; it simply manages the positions.
Where exactly is the added value for users?
It truly lies in the time-money-hassle ratio (sic). Trading is a great lever. The problem is that by wanting to do too much, people often end up creating a second job for themselves. Psychologically, it’s very complex to handle. ARYA acts as an interface between the trader and the market. We will automatically execute all the user’s pre-programmed instructions. The time-saving is tremendous. It is possible to generate income from financial markets without being glued to the screens. There is very little setup required beforehand. In essence: no need to watch price fluctuations and a true sense of letting go!
Do you have any projects currently in development?
We are working on an AI solution. We want to integrate it into the decision-making process of trading assistance. We aim to combine the best of human and technology. The next phase is ARYA AI, which has already been announced. It is currently under development. We should launch it in November. We also want to expand internationally, since what we teach the French-speaking community can obviously be replicated worldwide. We are first trying to capture a French-speaking community. Then we could replicate the support program. It has already been done in English.
