“Made in France” and “Made in Fair Trade”, same commitment…

This Friday, May 10th, at 6:30 PM, the Maison de l’Environnement in Nice invites the general public to embark on a journey to Laos, within a production cooperative. Presented by Bruno Georges from the association Artisan du Monde, this conference will raise awareness about the intricacies of economic production models through “made in France” and “fair trade.”

maisno_environnement_nice-2.jpg The price for some is the income for others… The race to the lowest cost inevitably results in lower social and ecological standards for producing countries. The consumer becomes the victim, seeing their wages reduced and jobs relocated.

Fair trade is not opposed to “made in France”; it is also a civic act aimed at establishing a model of production and consumption that ensures good social and environmental conditions for workers and consumers.

After a detailed presentation on this economic observation, the audience will discover how this model is applied by a production cooperative in Laos, “Lao Farmers Products”.
