Since last May, Magalie Cailhol has been providing sessions as part of a CAP training in ceramic pottery. Leisure courses are also available.
In 2007, Magalie Cailhol founded “Les ateliers Magali” in Nice. For several years, she has been creating handmade ceramic items that are “made in Nice.” Additionally, she offers leisure workshops, lasting an hour, to introduce participants to pottery. The focus is primarily on the artistic aspect of the discipline. During these sessions, each person has the time to make one to two creations. These would be quite basic creations, like a small pot, a plate, or a bowl for a pet.
Currently, Magali mainly works on orders from professionals. “I collaborate with restaurants, pubs too. It’s mainly for dishes and decoration.” Some individuals also request these services. “Every year for the past three years, a gentleman comes to gradually renew his dinnerware. So one year, he ordered flat plates from me, the second year, deep plates. This year, it was a vase to match the set.”
A CAP Training Available
While she continues to create and conduct workshops, Magali has also developed her project in parallel. Indeed, since the spring of 2025, she offers CAP training sessions at her workshop. This expertise is aimed at training the artisans of tomorrow. The training lasts 105 hours, spread over three weeks. It primarily focuses on the technique of using a potter’s wheel. “It was really a project I had in mind, but I had never taken the plunge until now,” she explains.
Magali managed to take this step thanks to the support of PASSPASSION. This platform connects artisans, like Magali Cailhol, with individuals looking for training or a workshop. It relieves artisans of all the administrative tasks, which hold back many. CAP training sessions, which Magali will teach throughout the year, are offered at different times in three-week periods.
