Since the dawn of time and in all civilizations, the change of season has led to numerous celebrations that continue in many European countries and French provinces, such as in Nice with its traditional “Mai” festival.
This popular and countryside festival is an opportunity for families to gather on the Saturdays and Sundays of May for a picnic and to enjoy dance, music, and other performances.
In the gardens of the Arènes de Cimiez, under the olive trees, on Tuesday, May 29 and Thursday, May 31, more than 5,000 children from 57 primary schools in Nice, invited by the municipality, the Central Office for School Cooperation, and the Academic Inspectorate, will be able to taste the specialties of Niçois cuisine (socca, pissaladière, pan-bagnat, tourte de blette…) and participate in traditional games (pignata, pilou…).
Lu Festin de Nissa allows children to better understand the traditions of Niçois culture.
