www.ecoemballages.fr is aimed at everyone, regardless of their level of knowledge and involvement, and helps understand why, how, and where to sort, in order to support all French people in this key gesture of sustainable development.

The infrastructures set up by local authorities now allow 59.6 million French people to sort their packaging. 87% of them place sorting and recycling at the top of the actions they are willing to undertake for environmental protection.
The recycling of household packaging helps avoid the emission of 1.8 million tons of CO2 every year, equivalent to 800,000 fewer cars on the roads. A significant benefit that relies on a simple daily gesture: selective sorting.

To help citizens sort more and better, Eco-Emballages has designed the site www.ecoemballages.fr. This interactive space, closely aligned with everyone’s concerns, offers data on the challenges and benefits of recycling as well as practical information to aid citizens in their efforts.
This space offers 4 sections:

· Why? – the benefits of sorting: to understand the environmental benefits of recycling through fun applications such as the eco-calculator (a counter that visualizes the energy savings generated by a weekly sorting gesture), an infographic tracing the journey of a sorted product, an illustration of recycling opportunities, etc.
· How? – sorting in practice: a guide by waste family (which waste to sort, should it be taken to the recycling center, or returned to the seller?), the golden rules for sorting quickly and easily…
· Where? – sorting near you: to discover your community’s sorting instructions, locate the nearest recycling center, get information on local sorting performances…
· Bonus – for sorting enthusiasts: videos and games to put into practice and virtually test your knowledge of sorting and recycling.

Throughout the navigation, a report retraces the entire sorting chain, from packaging design to recycling, through consumption and sorting instructions. This is presented by Stéphane Thébaut, host of “Question Maison” on France 5.

A must-visit site to learn or rediscover the benefits of sorting … and contribute to it effortlessly!
