Malnutrition Week: Antibes Hospital and Its Nursing Homes Mobilize

Latest News

On the occasion of Malnutrition Awareness Week, the Antibes hospital and its two nursing homes โ€” Les Balcons de la Fontonne and Thiers โ€” are taking action this Wednesday, November 17, and Thursday, November 18.

What is malnutrition?
Malnutrition is when you do not eat enough to meet your needs. It results in weakened immunity, physical weakness, and also a decrease in morale. It can worsen chronic illnesses and, in the worst cases, lead to death.

Malnutrition affects 2 million people in France, including 400,000 elderly people living at home, 270,000 people in nursing homes, and 10% of children hospitalized.

Malnutrition Awareness Week in Antibes
To inform about an action program aimed at combating malnutrition, the Antibes hospital is offering workshops today until 3:00 PM, where the disease will be discussed in more detail along with its management.

Tomorrow, Thursday, November 18, you can attend several workshops in the city’s two nursing homes.

From 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, an awareness workshop on malnutrition will be offered for residents, followed by a “meal workshop” on the environment and favorable conditions for eating, between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM. Finally, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, a “gourmet coffee” event on the importance of pleasure and conviviality will be held.

You can find all the program details here.
