For the first time in Nice, five traditional Chinese instrumentalists will engage in a dialogue with the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra for the French premiere of Ye Guohui’s concerto “Picture of Dancing Dragon”.
Another first: the new version of the technological part of Tristan Murail’s work “Le partage des eaux”, produced by the CIRM. To open the evening, a rarely programmed work by the “first Messiaen”.
On Saturday 29th at 4 PM, the Manca Festival offers another exceptional concert for the first visit to Nice of the Ensemble intercontemporain, founded by Pierre Boulez in 1976.
A now classic piece from the ensemble’s repertoire (Ligeti), a French premiere of a work co-commissioned by the CIRM and the Klangforum Wien whose technological part was produced by the CIRM (Murail), and the creation of the second part of Yann Robin’s work, whose first part festival attendees discovered (produced by the CIRM) with double bassist Nicolas Crosse at the Manca 2013.
