On September 7, the Departmental Council organized a garden party at CADAM, as a way to thank and recognize the twelve professional Maralpin clubs.
Despite a few absences due to traffic jams, the garden party of the Alpes-Maritimes department gathered a remarkable crowd. In the garden of CADAM, the presidents and captains of the twelve professional Maralpin clubs were present.
All sports were represented.
To begin with, volleyball was represented by As Cannes, Nice Volley, Racing Club de Cannes, and Volero Cannet. Basketball was also there with the Sharks dโAntibes and the Nice Angels from Cavigal Basket. The Stade Niรงois was well represented, testifying to its commitment to rugby. Cyclists from Sprinter Nice Mรฉtropole and hockey players from the Aigles de Nice were also present.
Lastly, OGC Nice was present for handball with its women’s division and football with its Ligue 1 team, accompanied by its president, Jean-Pierre Rivรจre. Players from the Handibasket club in Cannet also responded to the invitation. Each club was given the right to speak, and all reiterated their need for supporters. For them, the goal is to become increasingly known to fill their venues to capacity.ย
Stronger than ever committed to sport
Charles Ange Ginรฉsy, president of the department, spoke to thank all the professional and amateur clubs that make up the territory. Eric Ciotti , in his capacity as departmental councilor responsible for the finance commission, then spoke to provide financial assurances.
Indeed, the department has a budget that has increased by 25% this year for sports. The deputy also reminded attendees that the department had invested up to twenty million in the Allianz Riviera and also for the Riviera Arena in Antibes. He then renewed his support for the municipalities fighting to develop their sports sector.ย
A back-to-school season themed around the Olympic Games
On this occasion, the โambassadors 06โ, that is, the promising young people of the territory aged between eleven and eighteen, were present. They each received 200 euros in gift cards, as a way to thank them for their commitment.
But thatโs not all; the Team 06 was gathered. It comprises all the athletes from the territory who will participate in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Among them were judoka Loรฏc Piรฉtri and gymnast Samir Ait Said. A nod, therefore, to the athletes who will represent the Alpes-Maritimes at the Paris 2024 Games. They will also receive financial rewards in case of medals. More than ever, the Alpes-Maritimes department is marked by sports, whether at a high level or amateur.
