Oh, the beautiful life! … A simple little refrain by Sacha Distel (1963), that came back to me, which those under 20 can’t know…
A croissant in my mouth, a file under my right arm, a child’s teddy bear in my left hand, foot on a rolling suitcase (I’ll miss my flight if this keeps up) while on the phone (I found your teddy bear, I’ll bring it to you right away!) if I don’t choke on my croissant in the meantime! I hope my boss likes my short skirt, it’s not too much, is it?
Phew, Iโm tired. But no, everythingโs fine, a little cream to smooth the skin (I always have to be perfect).
What if I could stop working! Bake cookies, make organic food (I never have the time), redo the house decor (it really needs it), and above all, especially take care of ME, of ME, read (what are these books, about decor?), also read the future in a crystal ball (Iโm so stressed, will I get a raise, will I meet the man of my life), Iโd have time to do yoga, to buy myself sexy bras and jewelry, fashionable clothes.
And finally, in the evening I would have well deserved a glass of champagne, offered by ….. By whom anyway? My boss? Do people still offer champagne to their employees? Or the man of my life?
Oh, the beautiful life! Without love, without worry, without problem… la la la la…..
