On the occasion of certain wedding ceremonies, behaviors likely to disturb the peace, tranquility, and solemnity of the moment have been observed in and around the Nice City Hall.
Marriage is indeed a festive moment, but excesses should not disturb, beyond reason, either public tranquility, the safety of guests, or third parties.
A Marriage Charter will henceforth be proposed, signed by the future spouses, and sanctioned, in case of non-compliance, by regulatory provisions.
The arrangement consists of two points: A charter signed by both future spouses (see box) and a municipal decree that successively outlines the various rules designed to maintain the peace and solemnity of the moment as well as public order.
In case of non-compliance with these rules and depending on the behaviors and the severity of the actions, the official in charge of the union may decide to postpone the celebration, no later than 24 hours following the originally scheduled time.
