Marriage for all: Opponents protest in Nice

Latest News

Opponents of same-sex marriage are invited to protest this Saturday in several cities across France by a collective denouncing the bill currently being reviewed by the National Assembly. The procession is scheduled to start at 3 PM from Place Pierre-Gautier in front of the prefectural palace.

The call to protest comes from a “spontaneous and popular” collective, but clearly of clerical inspiration, whose organizers’ identities are unknown.

This collective will have the support and backing of the President of the General Council Eric Ciotti and possibly other political figures who will be present in the protest procession, while the Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, is not expected to be part of it, although he confirmed his commitment to voting against the Taubira law.
