Nearly 30,000 people rallied in several cities in France on Saturday, January 19, and many more will gather for the large national demonstration on Sunday, January 27, in Paris, called by numerous associations.
On this Sunday, January 27, thousands of people will mobilize to reaffirm their support for the bill opening marriage and adoption to same-sex couples, their support for progress toward greater equality among citizens, couples, and families.
The marchers will also reaffirm their desire for complete and immediate equality.
For the demonstrators and members, the shortcomings of this bill are undeniable and the government must urgently address them: opening assisted reproductive technology to female couples, recognizing parentage outside of marriage for same-sex parent families, taking into account co-parenting situations, etc.
The organizers emphatically state that this demonstration is not just for lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and trans people, but for all citizens committed to real equality of rights and respect for everyone in a humanistic society.
