The incidence rate stands at 3,230 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the Alpes-Maritimes, with a positivity rate of 20.4%.
These rates have reached an unprecedented level due to the rapid spread of the highly contagious OMICRON variant and the still-present DELTA variant in the region.
Therefore, in consultation with health authorities and local communities, the prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes is extending, until Tuesday, February 1, 2022, the requirement for everyone aged eleven and over to wear a mask in all public spaces throughout the department.
