A true sand arena dedicated to “Beach” sports awaits you…
Masséna 100% sport is a series of tournaments, demonstrations, and introductions to various beach sports such as beach volleyball, beach soccer, and sandball, featuring an exceptional lineup of high-level athletes (Xavier Barachet and Valérie Nicolas for Sandball, Victoria Ravva for Beach Volleyball, Sylvain Wiltord for Foot Volley…).
The Sandball tournament will be a first for the City of Nice and its “Cavigal Handball” club, which competes in National 1.
It will celebrate the 3 World Champions Xavier Barachet and William Accambray, crowned in Sweden last February, as well as Valérie Nicolas, who won the World Championships in 2003 in Croatia and currently represents the City of Nice with OGCN Handball.
Created in 1995 after the victory of the “Barjots” in Iceland, sandball is a team sport derived from handball. It is more playful with technical moves (Kung-fu, somersault…) that score points. It pits two teams of 4 players against each other for two six-minute halves in a festive atmosphere.

Friday, July 8: 7 PM – 10 PM: Start of the tournament for the 16 registered teams
Saturday, July 9: 9:30 AM – 10 PM: Continuation of the tournament with the final at 9:30 PM
Sunday, July 10: 4 PM – 10 PM: Tournament of the Aces with the first semi-final starting at 8 PM
