It has increased by nearly 40% in the department over the last seven days. It could surpass its previous record, dating from the 4th summer wave, in a few days.
On July 30, it was calculated to be 757 according to data from Santรฉ Publique France.
In light of this situation and the ensuing outlook, eighteen hospital and clinic executives from the Alpes-Maritimes and Monaco have signed a column urging the unvaccinated to take the step, or the State to make adult vaccination mandatory.
The signatory doctors rely on figures from Santรฉ Publique France: in the Alpes-Maritimes, as of Sunday, December 12, 275 Covid patients were hospitalized. 37 of them in intensive care. 24 hours later, on Monday, December 13, there were 290 in the hospital, 66 of whom were in intensive care. 80% of them are not vaccinated.
The emergency plan has been reactivated in hospitals with the action leverage being the postponement of non-Covid patients.
