Following the events in Toulouse, the various faiths gathered under the “Alpes-Maritimes Fraternitรฉ” initiative wished to express their shared and continuously reaffirmed commitment to combat antisemitism and all forms of terrorism.
In order to reaffirm the necessity of a fraternal and serene dialogue between religions, which is a prerequisite for a peaceful and harmonious coexistence within our Nation, the members of this initiative will meet on Monday, March 26, 2012, at 4:15 PM, alongside Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, President of the Nice Cรดte dโAzur Metropole, and President of “Alpes-Maritimes Fraternitรฉ,” and Eric Ciotti, President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes.
This meeting aims to emphasize that the defense of the values of dialogue and tolerance of the French Republic must be continuously reaffirmed, with conviction.
“Alpes-Maritimes Fraternitรฉ” is an initiative created in 2008 by Christian Estrosi when he was President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes. It brings together all the faiths present in the City of Nice and in the Alpes-Maritimes department, as well as the various political groups of the City Council. As a forum for consultation between all religions, it works for peace, freedom, and respect among people, whether they are believers or non-believers.
In this spirit, calendars gathering and explaining all the religious holidays of the year are made available to the public for free in all the religious venues of the City, in the main and annex City Halls, Association Houses, C.A.L., libraries, Department Houses, C.C.A.S., CUM, etc. For its fifth edition this year, 50,000 copies have been distributed in Alpes-Maritimes.
