Join us on November 11, 2011, at 2:00 PM at the Trabuquet in Menton to review the status of the Tirailleur Memorial project, initiated from the inception of the AMTS and formalized on the occasion of the first Tirailleur March from Nice to Menton on May 8, 2008.
The late recovery of the financing plan delayed the project’s realization. Through your commitment and the support of public authorities (states, local governments) and numerous associations, the work on the Tirailleur statue began in September 2011 in the workshops of the sculptor J. VERGNE and will be completed during the year 2012.
The nameplates will be produced by the DMPA, Ministry of Defense.
In light of the decisive commitments, we have to date secured the financial conditions needed for the memorial’s completion. In this regard, the AMTS is ending the “1 euro for a memorial” fundraising initiative, launched during the second Tirailleur March from Nice to Menton on May 8, 2009.
