Latest News

The Mercantour National Park celebrated its 40th anniversary last year. On June 2nd, and after more than two months of confinement, the Park finally reopened its doors, good news for nature lovers.

In a challenging context linked to Covid-19, the Mercantour Park still aimed to present an ambitious and festive summer program this year. The program was obviously adapted according to the circumstances, whether it be through the size of the groups or the reception arrangements, etc. The park is also one of the financial partners of the ecotourism recovery plan.

For your stays, you can visit the very useful and intuitive website “Destination Mercantour Marittime” and plan your trips in the Mercantour Park. Thanks to the interactive map and the multiple search criteria it offers, this site will allow you to choose and select hikes in the Mercantour – Alpi Marittime territory on both sides of the border, in France and Italy with:

โ€ข more than 100 day hikes and walks of all levels;
โ€ข around twenty itineraries from 2 to 7 days;
โ€ข 2 major treks with the “Grande Traversรฉe du Mercantour” and the “Grande Traversรฉe Alpi Marittime.”

Starting from Allos, Barcelonnette, or Entraunes, the park crossing, which is 16 to 18 stages long, will allow you to traverse the Mercantour massif and end with your feet in the water in Menton. Skirting peaks over 3,000 meters high, straddling the French-Italian mountainous border most of the time, this unique world itinerary concludes its journey on the Sablettes beach in Menton, offering a most astonishing contrast.
