After the success of the 3rd LGBT Festival, “In & Out,” organized by the association “Les Ouvreurs,” the Mercury cinema is offering three new debates this week.
First of all, the association “Cinéma Sans Frontières,” for its session with debate, has chosen “Une vie toute neuve” for its festival on South Korean cinema. *This debate will take place, as usual, on Friday at 8:30 PM.
The next day, Saturday at 8:30 PM, the association “Ciné-Café” is offering a session-debate on nuclear energy with the film “The China Syndrome” featuring Jane Fonda.
Finally, on Tuesday at 8:15 PM, the association AFREP will also have its session with a debate around a film that has become a cult classic, “Of Gods and Men.”

“Man at Bath” by Christophe Honoré is back in the week’s schedule after its success at the “In & Out” Festival.
“Cirkus Columbia”, the latest film by Danis Tanovic (“Eyes of War,” “No Man’s Land”) featuring Miki Manojlovic and Mira Furlan.
“The Light Thief” introduces you to a Kyrgyz film, by and starring Aktan Arym Kubat.
4 Films in Continuity
“Pina Bausch’s Dancing Dreams,” a film that was shown for only two weeks at the Mercury due to a lack of available copies. As “Pina” by Wim Wenders is currently on Nice screens, comparing the two films proves to be useful.
In the original version with subtitles, “Unknown” allows Liam Neeson to shine alongside Diane Kruger and January Jones, in a film by Jaume Collet-Serra (“Orphan”).
“Jimmy Rivière” by Teddy Lussi-Modeste takes us on the journey of a Gypsy (Guillaume Gouix) who rejects his passion and love to convert to Pentecostalism as imposed by his community, with Béatrice Dalle and Hafsia Herzi.
Finally, at the last Cannes Festival, actor Elio Germano was awarded a Palme d’Or for Best Actor (tied with Javier Bardem) for his role in “Our Life” by Daniele Luchetti.
