Seniors, the elderly, those we used to call the old a few years ago before that term was replaced by other nouns, will be at the heart of Emilie’s performance. “It’s a scenario involving an elderly person in an institution engaging in a modern life act, which is chronologically out of sync with their reality. I wanted to draw the audience’s attention to aging individuals by presenting them with an unusual, valorizing, and surprising image of old age in the context of one of the photographic performances by the artist METCUC on his theme ‘Fed up with.’”
The performance was done in collaboration with the St Anne Residence, a care home for dependent elderly people, and the proceeds will go towards fighting Alzheimer’s disease.
The opening evening and the presentation of the photographs will take place on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, starting at 6:30 PM at the headquarters of the Banque Populaire de la Côte d’Azur Nice Arénas, which is located opposite the Nice Côte d’Azur airport.
