Métropole NCA: The self-service scooters are changing ownership

All blue and white two-wheelers will disappear before the end of the month

Five years after its arrival in our territory in Nice, Cagnes-sur-Mer, and Saint-Laurent-du-Var, the self-service scooter operator Cityscoot will cease its activity in the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis. Despite having 30,000 subscribers and over two million rides recorded since its arrival in the azure capital, the French company has stated that it still has not achieved profitability. This situation has led the Metropolis to change operators.

The choice of the NCA metropolis has fallen on the Spanish company Yego. Already established in various French cities such as Paris, Bordeaux, Toulouse, and in Spain (Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, and Malaga), the Barcelona-based company is expected to arrive in Nice with “€135,000 for its establishment” and 700 self-service scooters throughout the city, which is 200 more than Cityscoot.

On April first, no Cityscoot vehicles will be available in self-service throughout the metropolis. For regular scooter users, they will have to patiently wait for Yego to resume operations, and the date has not yet been set.
