This Wednesday, July 10, the Metropolitan Council took place. Several delegates gathered at the Mediterranean University Center to debate and vote on resolutions. This plays a crucial role in the management and development of the metropolitan region. After budget management, sustainable development, and transport, we summarize social cohesion and housing.

The Metropolis is actively working to strengthen solidarity, improve housing, and promote social cohesion within its territory. Through various initiatives, it aims to create an inclusive and supportive area where every inhabitant can enjoy a better quality of life. This is what was discussed on Wednesday, July 10, at the Metropolitan Council.

Strategic resolutions

Among the resolutions voted on and adopted were several important agreements. Firstly, the signing of the flow management agreement for social housing reservations between the lessor ICF Habitat Sud-Est Méditerranée and the Metropolis.

Additionally, the project management partnership agreement. The goal? Urban transformation of the neighborhoods of Liserons, Moulins, and Ariane. Also, to carry out actions with all stakeholders for suitable management of new or transformed spaces.

Next, the signing of the framework agreement between the Metropolis and Action Logement Group aims to coordinate and optimize access to housing for employees by mobilizing the financing from Action Logement Group. This partnership aims to meet the needs of businesses, employees, and the territory.

Support for neighborhoods and cohesion

Also adopted, the second programming of the metropolitan city contract “Commitment to Neighborhoods 2030” plans the funding of 32 actions for an amount of 133,950 euros, benefiting 25 operators. This programming includes three new neighborhoods: Rouet (Nice), Gares (La Trinité), and Château (Saint-André-de-la-Roche).

This goes hand in hand with expanding the parameters of the ten renewed priority neighborhoods to reduce development disparities, promote equal opportunities, and improve the lives of residents.

Moreover, the approval of the objectives agreement 2023-2027 allows the implementation of the Housing First policy. It aims to assist people in fragile situations and the homeless.

Finally, the Urban Territory Contract 2021-2026 between the Metropolis Nice Côte d’Azur and the Departmental Council of the Alpes-Maritimes was approved to meet the needs of the territory.
