In the context of its mission to promote photography, the *Théâtre de la Photographie et de l’Image Charles Nègre* implements programs that, each year, bring together numerous educational institutions and facilitate the meeting of students with works from both heritage and contemporary creation. This year, this meeting will take place from May 14 to 19.
Bombarded with still or moving images, young people often find themselves at a loss with a language that holds a high potential for information, for which they need to learn the codes to fully grasp its meaning.
It is with this aim that these photographic projects are implemented. They are based on a team composed of teachers, artists, and cultural professionals. While every project obviously originates from the desire or idea of one of the actions, everyone must be able to appropriate it, thus the project itself is a reflection of a collective thought.
By fostering the artistic practice of young people, the Théâtre de la Photographie et de l’Image provides material for reflection and artistic production, as well as the necessary tools for any particularly interesting cultural action. However, it does not limit itself to this educational support; it also offers significant logistical support to successfully carry out and complete these actions.
For this new session, most of the works, fourteen in total, were developed based on our institution’s programming, with 140 images produced. This year again, through their quality, variety, and creativity, they demonstrate the value of these shared pathways and the lasting impact they can have on visual education.
