Because it’s trendier, we say “rooftop” instead of “roof terrace.” Nice has a few of them that I enjoy visiting.
Rooftop or roof terrace… It doesn’t matter what you call it, as long as you get the experience!
Let there be no misunderstanding: I do not encourage anyone to drink. My kind of intoxication is the breathtaking view that does it for me. Thanks to the well-managed architecture, there are no skyscrapers on the horizon. The clear view from these magical places allows you to admire the beautiful landscape of Nice, sea and mountains. And my gaze is always drawn to the whiteness and the sensual, mysterious roundness of the Nice Observatory, as beautiful under a gray sky as it is bathed in sunlight.
Often on these roof terraces, artists perform to accompany relaxation and extend the present moment: a bartender or a chef, skilled at awakening your taste buds with their signature cocktails, tapas, or other more substantial dishes.
Their discreetness is part of the charm of these rare addresses. You often have to cross the hotel lobby to reach paradise. But once there, it’s sun loungers, jacuzzi or pool, comfortable sofas, trendy musical ambiance… Isn’t life in Nice beautiful?
